Strawberry Limeade

Alexandra Grablewski / Photolibrary / Getty Images
With summer right around the corner now is the time to be thinking about great refreshments to make to stay cool. Since strawberries and limes make a good combination why not incorporate it into a wonderful drink. It is real easy to turn this recipe into a daiquiri just by adding a little rum to the mix. If you want this drink all year round you can just add frozen berries if there are no fresh berries available.

Ingredients
6-10 fresh or frozen thawed strawberries
2 ounces simple syrup (directions to make will follow)
3 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
8-10 ounces chilled club soda or water

Directions
1. If you have fresh strawberries, cut them in quarters. Place the berries in a cocktail shaker or large glass and smash them a bit with a muddler, a pestle or just the back of a spoon. You don't have to worry about getting them pureed; you just want them to release some juice.

2. Add the simple syrup and lime juice and a few ice cubes. If you're using a cocktail
shaker, shake for 30 seconds or so. If you're using a glass, stir vigorously.

3. Using a small, medium-fine strainer, strain the strawberry lime liquid evenly into two glasses (about 9 ounces; highball glasses are a good choice). Use the muddler or spoon to press down on the solids in the strainer to get all the liquid out.

4. Fill the glasses about a third full with ice cubes and pour the club soda or water over. Gently but thoroughly stir to combine. Adjust with more simple syrup or lime juice if necessary. Garnish with a wedge of lime or a strawberry split halfway (if you're using fresh berries).

Simple Syrup
Just combine equal parts (by volume) of granulated sugar and water. Shake or stir to dissolve the sugar. If the water is warm or hot, the sugar will dissolve more easily, but you'll want to chill the syrup (at least to room temperature) before using. You can keep the extra simple syrup in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks.

You can replace the strawberries with raspberries and the lime juice with lemon for an equally refreshing drink.

Things I wanted to share

I am on a site with some wonderful writers and sometimes it is difficult to share our articles on sites like Twitter and Facebook. So a friend suggested to me to try another way to share these articles to everyone I can come across. Well, here are a few articles I would love to share today. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did.

Derby Excitement

Do you know what the Richter Scale is?

Lab Grown Meat

Handful of Souls who are guided by God’s light

So as you can see I like reading different types of articles and I don't mind sharing them as well. Please take the time to read each one above. Thank you.

Ivory 2-In-1 Hair and Body Wash

I received a new vox-box from Influenster and the kids and I wasted no time in trying it out. I was a little skeptical at first but I tried it and I really liked the silky feeling it left on my body. This product saved up so much space around my tub area. I didn't have three separate items just laying around.
My oldest son was so happy to use this product. He was tired of having to use two different products for his hair and his body. He really likes being able to wash everything with one item.
I like the fresh yet gentle scent of Ivory® 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash. The smell is not overwhelming like some of those perfume body washes. It was simply fresh and clean!Ivory® 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash is overall wonderful. It’s a great body wash leaving your skin clean and moisturized. It’s nice for shaving, leaving your legs smooth and soft. And I absolutely love it for my hair cause its quick and simple, and after a few uses I noticed it made my hair super smooth and soft!So empty your shower of the six different kinds of soap/shampoo you have and run right out and get ONE bottle of Ivory® 2-IN-1 Hair & Body Wash! Then relax and Enjoy!

Here is a fun short video you can watch about New Ivory 2-in-1Check Out and Like Ivory’s Facebook Page Here

TastyKake Kandy Bar Kakes

I received my Spring VoxBox today and it contained a TastyKake Kandy Bar Kake S'mores flavored. It was melted due to the fact that its hot outside and was probably even hotter inside the mailbox. I let my son Alex open the new treat and he half of it with me. Although most of the chocolate was melted off of the S'mores you can still taste the moistness of this wonderful and fluffy cake.

I can't wait to try the other brands (Peppermint and Peanut Butter) that they have.

Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+

I received this product today in the mail thanks to Influenster. I received the Osis Gelastic.

This product is an ultra strong flex gel that provides all day definition and control and dries with a firm finish. The only thing I hate about it is that it was a little hard to get all of my hair when washing it.

ImPress Press on Manicure

I received my set of press on nails a few weeks ago. I'm not really into wearing fake nails, but these were a little different. I like that these nails didn't require any special glue to hold them in place. I still don't like fake nails, but I might buy these on special occasions.

Important Note: I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

Secret Outlast

This product worked wonders. It even had a great smell to it. When I put on my black dress it didn't leave a mark on my dress.

Carefree Panty liners from Influenster

It's really nice to be able to get a free product that I can try and give my honest opinion on. I received a free sample of Carefree panty liners from Influenster. I normally don't use products like this but this time around, since they were free I didn't mind trying them.

As you can see from the picture above, it's a really small package, that lets you know how small the product is. It was super thin and not bulky and fat like most pads and panty liners are. I thought this product would cause problems and be irritating, but I hardly noticed that I had one on. It didn't cause any irritations and didn't go up my but and get lost. It stayed in place and did its job. I am glad to have received this for free.

NuNu Wanted to Look out the Window

I was sitting on my bed close to the window that NuNu normally looks out of working on an article. NuNu jumps on the bed and pushes me out of the way because he wanted to look out of the window. I moved over so he could look out the window. Some guys were across the street mowing the grass. Before I know it, he is pushing me out the way again. He wanted to lay down on my back and he kept putting his head on my shoulder. So I was able to get a few pictures of him laying his head on my shoulder before he went to sleep laying behind me.

Earth Day is April 22

What are you doing for Earth Day which is on April 22? Earth Day is all about saving our planet and learning how to be even more environmental friendly to our Earth. Earth Day is now celebrated in over 192 countries worldwide. It was first celebrated on March 21, 1970, it was later moved to April 22. Many countries actually celebrate Earth week, with an entire weeks worth of activities focused on environmental issues.

Earth Day is about learning how to save the Earth from harm. It is a good time to learn about recycling and going green.

New Blog On WordPress

I went ahead and set up a new blog using WordPress. I am trying to see which one I like the best. Of course, WordPress is a little harder to use since there are more things to do and use, I find it more of a learning experience. I actually like using the WordPress design better. There are more choices to choose from than here on Blogger. It looks more professional. I still have a lot to learn, but I am ready for that learning process. So I might get to a point and switch all of these posts over to the WordPress blog. Don't worry though because the name is still the same there. I will eventually get my own domain for the site. That would be even nice. https://mywildadventureswhileblogging.wordpress.com/

Mythology and gods

Everyone has heard the stories about the Mythology and the Gods of that time frame. Many believe that they are simply just that a myth. What are the chances of it being true? I personally think there is a high possibility of being true. There is simply too much evidence pointing to it being true than saying it's only a myth.

What is the link between the superheroes of our time and to that of aliens? From what I have seen and witnessed, that almost every single superhero we have is very similar to the stories that happen years ago.

Just imagine if Zeus and Hera were real and the stories that we were told are real. Then what happened to them? Did their names just change depending on the religion?

Stress Awareness Day

Today, April 16 is Stress Awareness Day. Today is meant to be a relaxing day after having to stress over filing Income tax the day before. Stress Awareness Day was started in 1992 by a group called Health Resource Network (HRN) to bring awareness of stress.

Stress is not good for the body and can cause high blood pressure, increase in heart attacks and stroke, contribute to infertility, depression, and fasten the aging process.

So today take the time to relax and breathe deeply. Pick up your feet if you have the time and meditate.

A few ways to help you relax and not worry about stress can be found in everyday things. Here are a few:
Lavender Products-Pixabay
http://pixabay.com/en/lavender-products-soap-body-616444/

Decorate with lavender. Sure lavender may be a purple color, but it's properties are amazing in the long run. It has a soothing scent that not only calms you to the point of falling asleep, but it helps lower your blood pressure and your heart rate as well. There are so many products these days that offer the scent of lavender in them. I personally like to clean with the smell of lavender.

Take a bath. You can even find some lavender Epsom salt that you can add to your bath water. Taking a bath puts you in a calm and relax mood. Just don't fall asleep in the tub.

Meditation. Turn everything off and just sit in quietness and let your thoughts run free.

Exercise. By exercising, you are releasing endorphins and we all know endorphins make you happy. Make sure to consult your doctor before starting a new exercise regime.

Sex. Everyone says that having a healthy sex life can help lower the stress levels in a person. It even helps get rid of headaches.

Pet your dog or cat. Having animals around as pets help ease the stress in a person. After all pets show unconditional love to us humans it's no wonder that they can help de-stress us as well.

Remember don't sweat the small stuff, it's only small stuff.

Nobody knows that I

Nobody knows that I haven't dated in almost four years. I have been single for over four years now and I feel that it might be time to start dating again. I really haven't been looking at any prospects around in my area because I don't trust the people here. I know at this point I wouldn't mind dating someone that doesn't live in my country. I know that sounds outrageous, but that is how I feel. Some men are cruel and want only one thing. I'm not interested in playing games. I want to find someone that I can settle down with.

Nobody knows that I have a secret crush on someone, that person doesn't even know about my crush on them as well. Well, one person knows about my crush, but that's it. I'm scared to let this person know how I truly feel.

What am I doing wrong?

I am trying my best to make this blog work by using Adsense, but I don't know what I am doing wrong on here. I have tried reading more about Adsense and how it works, I still don't understand everything. I would ask Kisser from BestWriters.net but, he is always busy. I know he knows more about using AdSense. Maybe I need to switch to a WordPress type blog instead of using blogger? I wish I had someone to ask these questions to. I know my ads are in a good spot and I'm using the right type of ads. I'm still not earning anything from them. I wish I could get more traffic to my site as well.

My Favorite Songs

I thought I would do something a little more fun today, so I think I will share with everyone some of my favorite songs. I like to listen to a little bit of all kinds of music, although I rather listen to one kind. The music I can most identify myself with is music from the late 80's and early 90's. That is the time frame when I was a kid and music was music. I enjoy the hairbands the most. I was never a big fan of the Backstreet Boys or whatever that boy band was called that Justin Timberlake use to sing with.

This list is in particular order since I like each song equally.

1. Guns 'N Roses- November Rain

Now I can tell you that it was hard picking a song from this group, Guns 'N Roses due to the fact it was one of the groups I loved the most during this time period. I used to have a huge crush on Slash, the bass guitarist.

2. Motley Crue- Home Sweet Home

This is another group where it's hard to pick just one song. I love this song because how Tommy Lee plays the piano in the beginning and ending of the song. I took a year of piano lessons because of this.

3. Tesla- Love Song

Who doesn't like the sound of a love song being sung by a guy with long hair??? This song brings back so many memories.

4. Nirvana- Smells Like Teen Spirit

Kurt Cobain had many demons while he was alive that ate at him on a daily basis. I am just glad he was able to produce some of his torments into songs before his early demise in 1995. There will be no singer like Kurt Cobain and no group like Nirvana.

5. Skid Row- Wasted Time

This is another hair band that I find it hard to pick just one song. Sebastian Bach had a voice unlike any other. His story telling was amazing and his songs were incredible.

I could go on and on about songs that I like, but it wouldn't be fair to list them all in one post. I had influences from the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Steelheart, Cinderella, Styx, and the list goes on and on.

What are some songs and artist that you enjoy listening to?

My Cat Keke had her Kittens

Keke
I was busy cleaning the bathroom when Alex came running in the bathroom telling me something was wrong on the porch and to hurry up and come see. I see my mom was sitting on the porch on the ground so I thought something had happened to her. Further inspection I saw she was sitting in front of the box on the porch that the cats sleep in. Keke was in the box in distress. I immediately told Alex to grab me some gloves and my camera. I got into position and started assisting Keke with her delivery. I rubbed on her tummy to help keep her calm. I assume rubbing her tummy helped ease the pain.

Three of the kittens
The first kitten born was a boy. He is the orange/red and white kitten on the bottom. The second kitten born was the little calico kitten. For those that don't know it's the one that is multi-colored. Almost all calico kittens are girls. So this one is a girl. The third kitten is shown above it mostly orange/red colored. It's hard to see if he has any other colors on him. Yes, it's another boy.

This is the fourth Kitten
The fourth kitten was born with Alex and I knowing about it. Alex had jumped in the tub to take a bath and washed his hair. I guess this little girl didn't want an audience when she was coming into this world. She is more of a black tabby looking kitten and is the darkest one out of all five.

Keke and all five Kittens
If you close to the left of Keke's paw you can see the fifth kitten that was born. In this picture, he is still a little wet from the birth. Keke has her other four kittens on the other side of her paw.

Keke and her babies
This is Keke and all of her newborn kittens. My dog NuNu, who is a pit bull, wanted to see the new arrivals and my mom was scared to let him see. I, of course, knew that NuNu wouldn't do anything, so I let him see the new babies and Keke. All NuNu wanted to do was lick (kiss) every single one of them. He even kissed Keke. NuNu is happy he has some new playmates. Now he just has to wait until they are old enough to play with.

National Pet Day is April 11

National Pet Day is April 11 here in the United States. It is a time for pet owners can celebrate with their fur babies. National Pet Day is also the time to recognize that as pet owners we need to take steps to ensure there are not unwanted litters from our pets. There are over 16,000 pets being put to sleep due to the fact they are unwanted. We should make sure our pets are spayed and neutered.

It is a good time to volunteer at your local animal shelter. Many animals would love the extra attention and too many animals it may be their last time with any human touch. Make a difference in a pet's life and volunteer.

National Siblings Day

National Siblings Day is April 10. It is a good day to celebrate if you have either a brother or sister or even both.
Siblings-Pixabay
http://pixabay.com/en/family-parents-kids-portraits-286229/

Although, it's a not celebrated in all states, it is also not federally recognized as most holidays. The holiday was created by Claudia Evart to honor both her brother and sister who died at an early age.

Siblings Day is a great way to remember your brothers and sisters and do something special with them. It is a day to appreciate and cherish your brothers and sisters. After all, they are our first friends, playmates, and supporters through out life.

Papa John's Pizza

I will never order from Papa John's Pizza ever again. I received an email today from Papa John's stating I earned a free pizza. When I went to redeem that pizza I was told I didn't have enough points to get a free pizza. If that is the case then why send me an email stating I am eligible for a free pizza? I call the call center at the number I was given by an employee at Papa John's and was told by her that I had already used my points on March 22. If that was true then why am I still receiving an email about a free pizza. I told the woman not to worry about it and that I will not be ordering another pizza from Papa John's. This is poor customer service and besides that the pizza is nasty tasting. My kids don't even like the pizza from Papa John's. They have gone up on delivery fees as well along with the prices of the pizza. It's not even worth getting food from them.

Paid Viewpoint

Paid Viewpoint is a site where you get paid for taking survey's. The least amount you can make per survey is $0.10 but, you are able to make more than that. Paid Viewpoint sends out e-mails letting you know about special surveys that you are able to take, but there is a catch, these survey's must be completed within a certain time frame. I once made over $2 for one of these surveys. Once you get to $15 and your PayPal account is verified as well as your telephone number then you can cash out.
Paid Viewpoint.com paid
It is really easy to get up to the amount to cash out as long as they keep giving you surveys to complete. It doesn't take very long to receive your money once they can verify that you did not use a bot of any kind.

No Housework Day

No Housework Day
Today is No Housework Day so now is your chance to take advantage of not having to do any chores to do. You are able to do anything today, but housework.

Now if you are the one that is constantly having to do all of the housework, now is your day to prop your feet up and let someone else do the work for you. If someone else in your house does all of the household chores, let them prop their feet up while you do their job. Everyone needs a break every once in awhile from household chores that seem to never end.

Household Chores-Pixabay
Whoever created this wonderful day is a pure genius and they must have been really tired from having to do all of the household chores themselves.

NuNu and the Soccer Ball

NuNu
I personally like to think I have one of the best dogs in the world. He is the brightest dog I have ever met as well. He doesn't think he is a dog, but he thinks he is a baby and that he is just as human as you and I. He loves to play, he really loves playing with his best buddy Alex. When Alex isn't around he has me to play with and I always try to get him tired while we are playing.

Today we played with a soccer ball that Alex left in the living room. I simply rolled it into the hallway and NuNu knew exactly what I wanted him to do. He started barking at it and nudging it with his nose. I grabbed my camera and started recording. At one point, I even picked the ball up to show him but he kept running from the ball and was barking from around the corner. He is too cute when he does that.

Have you ever been stung by a bee or other insect?

Have you ever been stung by a bee or other insect? As a child, I have been stung by bees and red wasps alike. Being stung by red wasps has left a mark on me emotionally. Now that I am older, I do everything in my power to make sure that I am never in a predicament to get stung by another wasp and I make sure that my children are safe from harm as well.

Red Wasp
These nasty insects start making their nests as early as April and they have the "community" type colony. It is never wise to try and get rid of these community insects during the heat of the day.
Red Wasps Nests
To get rid of wasps it is best to wait until the sun starts going down and the wasps start to return to their nests. Some suggest an aerosol that is specially made for wasps that can reach up to 20 feet when sprayed. You want to have enough distance in between yourself and the wasps in case they decide to attack you.

Make sure the wasps are dead before trying to remove the nest from the location. Remember the queen is usually still in the nest, so you will have to kill her as well. Once you remove the nest and kill the wasp it is always good to prevent them from coming back. This part sounds easier said than done. Wasps are drawn to food and open trash cans. In my defense, I don't ever leave any food out and my garbage can lids are on tightly. Also, make sure these things can't get inside your home. This is where I have a problem. I have noted several openings in my attic area where these wasps can get in at. Trust me it is not fun trying to kill wasps on the inside of my house. I once almost broke my neck trying to get out of the bathtub because there was a wasp flying around in the bathroom.

Don't get stung this year. Be safe!

How Do You Celebrate Easter

Happy Easter-Pixabay

Easter is celebrated in many different ways depending on your religion and depending on your location. Some call Easter- Passover. In the Christian religion, the Christians believe that the son of god, Jesus Christ has risen from the dead after being dead for three days. So they come together on Passover to celebrate this.

Regardless if you believe in Jesus Christ or not, most people will still enjoy the day of festivities without the hassles of the religion. Many will dye eggs and hide them for the children to find later on in the day. This is really a great way to spend time with the family.

Easter Eggs- Pixabay
Easter dinner normally consists of baked ham, potatoes and vegetables with something sweet on the side. Americans love to overcook during the holidays and normally end up with leftovers.

Another Easter tradition is the Easter bunny that shows up early in the morning before the kids get up out of bed. He/She normally delivers the Easter baskets full of goodies for the kids. You can find all kinds of goodies in a basket from candy to toys, and sometimes money.

What kind of Easter traditions do you celebrate?

The Best Thing about a Rainy Day

The best thing about a rainy day is nothing is limited to just one thing. You have unlimited options to choose from at any given moment. Some of the things that I like to do on a rainy day are listed below but are not limited to:

  1. Watching movies.
  2. Reading a good book.
  3. Taking a nap.
  4. Writing an article or articles for a blog.
  5. Create a video vlog.
  6. Play a board game with my kids.
  7. Play video games.
  8. Video Chat with friends on Google Hangout.
  9. Bake something from a new recipe.
  10. Make a photo collage.
So as you can see from above those are only a few options of some things that I like to do when it rains.

The Best Part of Spring

The best part of Spring is seeing nature start to come alive again with vibrant colors and the sounds of animals being active once again that were hibernating during the winter. The trees are starting to bloom and their leaves are turning green. The flowers are starting to grow. It's even nice to see the little weeds that we call Dandelions as well. The squirrels are making their rounds looking for acorns getting their nests ready for following winter. The birds will be making their nests soon for the arrival of their offspring. Isn't nature wonderful? Right now my yard is looking like a jungle, with tall grass and weeds everywhere. That is another good thing about Spring, the growth of grass. We say good-bye to winter and goodbye to everything that was dull and gray. Hello, colors and warmth. Soon Summer will be here before you know it. I wonder how the weather looks where my friend +bhargavi jaladanki  lives in India?

Living the Single and Lonely Life

Lonely

Living the single life can have it's advantages and it can have it's disadvantages as well. It all depends on how the person looks at the circumstances. Some people are quick to jump right back into another relationship right after a breakup has occurred while others tend to wait. For those who wait, how do they know when it's time to start looking again? I know I can only speak for myself but I'm not interested in anyone from the same area I am living in. It seems no one here knows how to treat a woman or they are only wanting one thing. I'm not interested in playing games. I'm too old for that. I feel that I let my emotions get the best of me at times because I am always carrying my heart on my sleeve and this will end up getting me hurt in the long run. I try to act tough and hide my feelings, but they sometimes escape at the wrong times. I feel as though I will always be lonely because deep in my heart I know I can't be with the person that I want to be with. He isn't even aware of my feelings for him and it will stay like that.

HOMEMADE PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA DOG TREATS

I normally just go out and just by my dogs, Dog-treats from the stores. But I noticed the last time how sick they had gotten after eaten them. So I wanted to try something different and something that is better for them. So I looked online and I found this recipe and not only did my dogs love this but my Cats did too.

Ingredients:
1 banana, peeled
1 cup Oat-Flour
2/3 cup Rolled oats
1/2 cup Dried-parsley
3 tablespoons Peanut-Butter
1 egg beaten

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300°F. Put the banana in a large bowl and use a spoon or potato masher to mash it thoroughly. Add oat flour, oats, parsley, peanut butter and egg and stir well to combine. Set aside for 5 minutes.

Roll mixture into 24 balls, using about 1 tablespoon dough for each; transfer to a large parchment paper-lined baking sheet as done. Use the back of a spoon or the heel of your hand to press each ball into a (1 1/2- to 2-inch) coin. Bake until firm and deep golden brown on the bottom, 40 to 45 minutes. Set aside to let cool completely.

Storage note: It's best to store these in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Or, freeze them to give to your pal later; just be sure to thaw the treats before handing them out.

These will look like Cookies when they are done. So make sure your Kids and your Parents don't try to eat these. Both my son and my mom ate one without me knowing about it and they both told me that my cookies were nasty. I had to tell them, yeah they are nasty because it's not for humans it's for the dogs. So I had to laugh at them. Too bad I didn't catch them eating it or I would have taken a picture of them doing so.

National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day

Peanut Butter and Jelly

National Peanut butter and jelly day is on April 2 and it celebrates the "PB & J" sandwich. This is one sandwich that many American kids and even adults love to eat. Many kids will not eat anything but "PB & J" sandwiches.
My kids love to eat peanut butter and jelly with grape jelly. I, on the other hand, must have strawberry jam with my peanut butter. There is really no wrong way to make a PB & J sandwich. I have different ways of making the sandwich myself. One way that I make it is by putting peanut butter on one side of the bread and jelly on the other. Sometimes I will mix the peanut butter and jelly together before putting it on the bread. I also will take the crust off the bread befoe eating. My son Alex likes his sandwich cut into fours.
So how will you be celebrating this National Peanut butter and jelly day? I think I'll have myself sandwich.

April Has Begun

It is the beginning of a new month, April is finally here! Hopefully, April will be a better month for everyone and will bring plenty of opportunities as well.

Today is April 1 which is known as April Fool's Day. This is a day where people can get away with pulling pranks on other people without it having a negative effect. I am staying at home so I will not get a prank pulled on me. Thankfully my son hasn't given it any thought as well. Here is a video with some great pranks:

Be on the lookout for those pranksters unless of course you are the prankster yourself. Just remember to keep it clean.
