Today is the Day

Well, today is the day the BestWriters.com will be going through a maintenance stage and will be changing its domain name today as well. Everyone has been waiting for this change all week and I am glad to finally see Kisser implementing that change. Kisser really doesn't understand that he is really needed around the site. Everyone trusts him and we will hate to see him leave. I think I would be hurt the most than anyone else. He is a real nice friend that you can talk to without any problems.

Kisser still won't tell me ahead of time what the sites name is going to be. He told me I had to wait and see, but this wait is killing me. I hope it's a good name that will fit the site and all of our personalities. More importantly, I hope it will help the site to start paying again soon.

Just got an update, the new name is World Famous Writers. I love the name.

Dream Fairy, Where Are You?
To remember your dreams better, write a brief note to your Dream Fairy, read it and put it under your pillow. When you wake and write about your dreams in your Journal, add a big thank you to your DF. Then each night thereafter, read the note and return it to its place under your pillow. Write a new note when you feel like its time!

How old were you when you got your first computer?

I believe I was about 24 years old when I got my first computer. I used to have to go the library when I wanted to do something online. Of course back then there was no such thing as Wifi or DSL. There was only Dial up and that used up your telephone line, so if anyone wanted to call you or if you wanted to call someone you had to get off the internet to do such a thing.

Now I have had several computers since then. This will make my second Laptop that I have owned. My first laptop was a Toshiba and now I own a Dell laptop. I love the Dell better. Looking back now, I can't imagine my life without a computer. You can do so much on computer these days than when I first started. You can find just about anything and everything on the internet.

So how old were you when you got your first computer?

Changes for Best Writers

Best Writers has been operating under the Non-Profit cloud since March 21. The site had lost almost 80% of it writers because of not being able to pay. Many writers stayed to help the site out and they eventually became what is known as Premium Members. You can see the logo below.
I'm not sure exactly what it means to be a Premium Member now, but I do know when the site does become a paid site again these premium members will have an advantage over the people coming back to the site.

+Rex Trulove has written an update in Best Writers called Good sort of announcement. To many of us at Best Writers it's a really good announcement. Since the beginning of Best Writers (when it started in February), it has had a bad reputation due to the past owners that had used the same name in the past. This had brought so many disappointments for the site. The owners of the site now, +Rex Trulove, Kisser, and Brad Josh and of course with the help of +trenna sue hiler have decided that now is the time for a domain change. I was assured by Rex that they will pick a name that doesn't have a bad history so we can start making money.

Wednesday will be the day of the change and when people come to the site they will see a new name. Everyone is excited, including me and well can't wait to see what our new name will be.

May is a busy month for holidays

Today just kicked off the month of May and it's one of the busiest months of the year. There are many different things to celebrate this month. I wonder if it's actually possible to celebrate every single thing.

Did you know that May is Date your mate month? If you are in a relationship then this is the month to spend time with that mate of yours. You don't even have to leave the house in order to have a date. Stay home and watch movies together. Since it is warmer now why not go for a walk under the stars. My favorite is having a bonfire and just snuggle together. Of course, you can still go eat at that restaurant that just opened that you have been dying to try. The possibilities are endless for this.

May is also the time for great barbecue since it is also National barbecue month. Get your bike out of storage and get ready to ride it for National Bike Month during May. It's a great way to get fresh air and some exercise before summer gets here.

Other national holidays for May are:
  • Foster Care Month
  • National Blood Pressure Month
  • National Hamburger Month
  • National Photograph Month
  • National Recommitment Month
  • National Salad Month
  • Older Americans Month

Strawberry Limeade

With summer right around the corner now is the time to be thinking about great refreshments to make to stay cool. Since strawberries and limes make a good combination why not incorporate it into a wonderful drink. It is real easy to turn this recipe into a daiquiri just by adding a little rum to the mix. If you want this drink all year round you can just add frozen berries if there are no fresh berries available.

Ingredients
6-10 fresh or frozen thawed strawberries
2 ounces simple syrup (directions to make will follow)
3 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
8-10 ounces chilled club soda or water

Directions
1. If you have fresh strawberries, cut them in quarters. Place the berries in a cocktail shaker or large glass and smash them a bit with a muddler, a pestle or just the back of a spoon. You don't have to worry about getting them pureed; you just want them to release some juice.

2. Add the simple syrup and lime juice and a few ice cubes. If you're using a cocktail
shaker, shake for 30 seconds or so. If you're using a glass, stir vigorously.

3. Using a small, medium-fine strainer, strain the strawberry lime liquid evenly into two glasses (about 9 ounces; highball glasses are a good choice). Use the muddler or spoon to press down on the solids in the strainer to get all the liquid out.

4. Fill the glasses about a third full with ice cubes and pour the club soda or water over. Gently but thoroughly stir to combine. Adjust with more simple syrup or lime juice if necessary. Garnish with a wedge of lime or a strawberry split halfway (if you're using fresh berries).

Simple Syrup
Just combine equal parts (by volume) of granulated sugar and water. Shake or stir to dissolve the sugar. If the water is warm or hot, the sugar will dissolve more easily, but you'll want to chill the syrup (at least to room temperature) before using. You can keep the extra simple syrup in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks.

You can replace the strawberries with raspberries and the lime juice with lemon for an equally refreshing drink.
