Have you ever been stung by a bee or other insect?

Have you ever been stung by a bee or other insect? As a child, I have been stung by bees and red wasps alike. Being stung by red wasps has left a mark on me emotionally. Now that I am older, I do everything in my power to make sure that I am never in a predicament to get stung by another wasp and I make sure that my children are safe from harm as well.

Red Wasp
These nasty insects start making their nests as early as April and they have the "community" type colony. It is never wise to try and get rid of these community insects during the heat of the day.
Red Wasps Nests
To get rid of wasps it is best to wait until the sun starts going down and the wasps start to return to their nests. Some suggest an aerosol that is specially made for wasps that can reach up to 20 feet when sprayed. You want to have enough distance in between yourself and the wasps in case they decide to attack you.

Make sure the wasps are dead before trying to remove the nest from the location. Remember the queen is usually still in the nest, so you will have to kill her as well. Once you remove the nest and kill the wasp it is always good to prevent them from coming back. This part sounds easier said than done. Wasps are drawn to food and open trash cans. In my defense, I don't ever leave any food out and my garbage can lids are on tightly. Also, make sure these things can't get inside your home. This is where I have a problem. I have noted several openings in my attic area where these wasps can get in at. Trust me it is not fun trying to kill wasps on the inside of my house. I once almost broke my neck trying to get out of the bathtub because there was a wasp flying around in the bathroom.

Don't get stung this year. Be safe!

How Do You Celebrate Easter

Happy Easter-Pixabay

Easter is celebrated in many different ways depending on your religion and depending on your location. Some call Easter- Passover. In the Christian religion, the Christians believe that the son of god, Jesus Christ has risen from the dead after being dead for three days. So they come together on Passover to celebrate this.

Regardless if you believe in Jesus Christ or not, most people will still enjoy the day of festivities without the hassles of the religion. Many will dye eggs and hide them for the children to find later on in the day. This is really a great way to spend time with the family.

Easter Eggs- Pixabay
Easter dinner normally consists of baked ham, potatoes and vegetables with something sweet on the side. Americans love to overcook during the holidays and normally end up with leftovers.

Another Easter tradition is the Easter bunny that shows up early in the morning before the kids get up out of bed. He/She normally delivers the Easter baskets full of goodies for the kids. You can find all kinds of goodies in a basket from candy to toys, and sometimes money.

What kind of Easter traditions do you celebrate?

The Best Thing about a Rainy Day

The best thing about a rainy day is nothing is limited to just one thing. You have unlimited options to choose from at any given moment. Some of the things that I like to do on a rainy day are listed below but are not limited to:

  1. Watching movies.
  2. Reading a good book.
  3. Taking a nap.
  4. Writing an article or articles for a blog.
  5. Create a video vlog.
  6. Play a board game with my kids.
  7. Play video games.
  8. Video Chat with friends on Google Hangout.
  9. Bake something from a new recipe.
  10. Make a photo collage.
So as you can see from above those are only a few options of some things that I like to do when it rains.

The Best Part of Spring

The best part of Spring is seeing nature start to come alive again with vibrant colors and the sounds of animals being active once again that were hibernating during the winter. The trees are starting to bloom and their leaves are turning green. The flowers are starting to grow. It's even nice to see the little weeds that we call Dandelions as well. The squirrels are making their rounds looking for acorns getting their nests ready for following winter. The birds will be making their nests soon for the arrival of their offspring. Isn't nature wonderful? Right now my yard is looking like a jungle, with tall grass and weeds everywhere. That is another good thing about Spring, the growth of grass. We say good-bye to winter and goodbye to everything that was dull and gray. Hello, colors and warmth. Soon Summer will be here before you know it. I wonder how the weather looks where my friend +bhargavi jaladanki  lives in India?

Living the Single and Lonely Life

Lonely

Living the single life can have it's advantages and it can have it's disadvantages as well. It all depends on how the person looks at the circumstances. Some people are quick to jump right back into another relationship right after a breakup has occurred while others tend to wait. For those who wait, how do they know when it's time to start looking again? I know I can only speak for myself but I'm not interested in anyone from the same area I am living in. It seems no one here knows how to treat a woman or they are only wanting one thing. I'm not interested in playing games. I'm too old for that. I feel that I let my emotions get the best of me at times because I am always carrying my heart on my sleeve and this will end up getting me hurt in the long run. I try to act tough and hide my feelings, but they sometimes escape at the wrong times. I feel as though I will always be lonely because deep in my heart I know I can't be with the person that I want to be with. He isn't even aware of my feelings for him and it will stay like that.

HOMEMADE PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA DOG TREATS

I normally just go out and just by my dogs, Dog-treats from the stores. But I noticed the last time how sick they had gotten after eaten them. So I wanted to try something different and something that is better for them. So I looked online and I found this recipe and not only did my dogs love this but my Cats did too.

Ingredients:
1 banana, peeled
1 cup Oat-Flour
2/3 cup Rolled oats
1/2 cup Dried-parsley
3 tablespoons Peanut-Butter
1 egg beaten

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300°F. Put the banana in a large bowl and use a spoon or potato masher to mash it thoroughly. Add oat flour, oats, parsley, peanut butter and egg and stir well to combine. Set aside for 5 minutes.

Roll mixture into 24 balls, using about 1 tablespoon dough for each; transfer to a large parchment paper-lined baking sheet as done. Use the back of a spoon or the heel of your hand to press each ball into a (1 1/2- to 2-inch) coin. Bake until firm and deep golden brown on the bottom, 40 to 45 minutes. Set aside to let cool completely.

Storage note: It's best to store these in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Or, freeze them to give to your pal later; just be sure to thaw the treats before handing them out.

These will look like Cookies when they are done. So make sure your Kids and your Parents don't try to eat these. Both my son and my mom ate one without me knowing about it and they both told me that my cookies were nasty. I had to tell them, yeah they are nasty because it's not for humans it's for the dogs. So I had to laugh at them. Too bad I didn't catch them eating it or I would have taken a picture of them doing so.

National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day

Peanut Butter and Jelly

National Peanut butter and jelly day is on April 2 and it celebrates the "PB & J" sandwich. This is one sandwich that many American kids and even adults love to eat. Many kids will not eat anything but "PB & J" sandwiches.
My kids love to eat peanut butter and jelly with grape jelly. I, on the other hand, must have strawberry jam with my peanut butter. There is really no wrong way to make a PB & J sandwich. I have different ways of making the sandwich myself. One way that I make it is by putting peanut butter on one side of the bread and jelly on the other. Sometimes I will mix the peanut butter and jelly together before putting it on the bread. I also will take the crust off the bread befoe eating. My son Alex likes his sandwich cut into fours.
So how will you be celebrating this National Peanut butter and jelly day? I think I'll have myself sandwich.
