Egg Drop Soup

Egg Drop Soup

I love eating Egg Drop Soup at various Chinese restaurants and have always wondered how it was made. Well, I don't have to wonder any longer since finding this recipe and making it myself. I thought it was going to be hard to make but in reality it was really easy. It also tasted just like the real thing. Pretty soon I won't have to go back to a Chinese restaurant for anything when I can make everything myself from home. Now if only I can fight my craving for this soup then I will be okay.

Ingredients

4 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon cornstarch
3 large eggs
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2" fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon peppercorns
1 cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Directions

Whisk together 1 tablespoon cornstarch and chilled or room temperature chicken stock. Pour the stock in a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Place the ginger and peppercorns in a tea ball or bag, then add to the broth along with the cinnamon stick, soy sauce, and white pepper. Turn down the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes. Scoop out the cinnamon stick and remove the tea bag, and taste the broth. Add salt or say sauce as needed. In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs with the remaining teaspoon of cornstarch. Stir the soup with a ladle. Rest a fork over the bowl, and press down on the back of the fork with your thumb while your fingers reach around to grip the bottom of the bowl. Tilt the bowl to pour the eggs slowly through the fork tines. Whisk the broth with your other hand as you pour. Let the soup stand for a few seconds to finish cooking the eggs. Stir in the sesame oil. Serve immediately.

My only downfall of making this soup is that I found myself craving this soup almost daily now. I plan on making a big pot of it and I am going to see if I can freeze part of it and save it for another day when I do start to crave it. I bet this would even do well for someone wanting to lose weight as well.

MARY LAMBERT: HEART ON MY SLEEVE

I am really excited to be able to listen to Mary Lambert's new album which is called Heart On My Sleeve. For those that don't know Mary Lambert is known for vocals on Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Same Love." Mary is a very talented singer and I am trying to help get the word out about her new album that goes on sale this Friday, October 14, 2014. Her biggest hit "Secrets" is climbing the charts and I would like to see her which that number 1 spot.

I included the video for everyone to see. I watched it myself to get a feel for the song and for the artist and I loved it. I love that she is fully of confidence and she is sure of herself. She doesn't let other people's opinion affect how she acts and feels.

If you want to find out more about how to purchase Mary Lambert's new album just follow the links below:

I participated in the Mary Lambert Heart On My Sleeve album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided a free album to review, but all opinions are my own.

Shutterfly

I am always taking pictures of my son and of my animals and never have time to get them printed out, so they stay on my computer forever. Then I get upset when something happens to my pictures on my computer. So I started looking for a cheap way to get my pictures developed and I found this site called Shutterfly. When I first joined I was able to get free pictures all I had to do was pay shipping and handling. The company started sending me emails letting me know about their specials and every once in awhile I would get an email stating I could get "something" for free, once again all I had to pay was shipping and handling. I have gotten free address labels and a free mouse pad. I just sent off for free ceramic mug for a mom. I was able to decorate it with my own pictures the way I want to. I know she will like it.

So if you are looking for a place to get pictures developed you may want to consider Shutterfly for your picture needs. They offer all kinds of gifts as well.

Should parents spank their kids?

With everything that is going on these days it is obvious that children are lacking some type of discipline from their parents. Back in the old days it was unheard of for parents to spank their children with various objects like belts or switches from trees, but in today's society it is frowned upon by the government and  most parents. In some places it is considered to be child abuse, of course some will argue with you and say differently.

Parents should only spank their children when they are calm and rational and it fits the punishment. If a parent hits while angry then they might not be clearly thinking and could cause harm to that child, thus the child abuse comes in. Anytime a mark is left on the child, it is called abuse.

Sometimes as parents, we need to think about the situation at hand and think about the punishment before dishing it out. Sure spanking may help some kids but it doesn't help all kids. As a matter of fact it causes more damage to more children than we think.

So I think spanking should only be done when the parent is calm and rationale think about the situation at hand.

ChatAbout

A few months ago while bubbling away Bubblews I came across a post where someone was talking about how she was making extra money on the side just by talking or chatting is how she was referring to it. Well she mentioned the named the Chatabout. Well on Bubblews we are not allowed to leave links to other websites for any reasons so I had to do my own research so I looked it up and of course I signed up. It's a place where you can go and talk about anything and everything until you heart is content. There is so many topics to choose from and if you can't find what you are looking for  then you can make your own topic. You get points for writing. So each time you leave a comment it's a point.

Chatabout has rewards as well. Once you reach a certain amount you can cash in your points for an award. Most awards are rewarded the next day or instantly depending on the reward chosen.

Chatabout has some of the friendliest people on it's site. The admins and the moderators are quick to respond when there is a problem. For the month of July they are given away prizes to active members so make sure to be active every day.

Snuggle Community

I must be really lucky because I was chosen to participate with a few other wonderful people to try out some great products from Snuggle and the Snuggle Bear. I know if I am one of the really lucky 500 that are chosen I might get my very own Snuggle Bear to Snuggle with.

If you think you are one of the lucky 500 then here is the link to sign up below :
